Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 9, 2026
Note: This website and our services are intended for residents of the United States.
About Us
Blossom Christian Church ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, attend our events, or interact with us.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide to Us
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us, including:
- Information such as your first name, last name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and communication preferences — for example, when you sign up for our newsletter or register for an event
- Prayer requests and other communications you share with us
We take extra care with potentially sensitive information you share, including prayer requests (which may reflect religious beliefs) or dietary restrictions (which may reflect health information). We use it only for the purpose you gave it to us for, except as otherwise described in this policy. We never sell it or share it for targeted advertising, and you may ask us to limit how it's shared or delete it at any time (see the Your Data Rights section below).
Information Automatically Collected
Visiting our website or submitting a form transmits standard technical information to our service or the third-party service handling the request, as with any website. Information collected this way may include:
- IP address and general location information
- Browser type and version
- Device information and operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on our website
- Referring website or source
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies
Service Providers
We use services provided by trusted third parties, each subject to their own privacy policy. For example:
- When you subscribe to our newsletter, information you provide, such as your email address, is given to Mailchimp for newsletter delivery. Data transferred to or collected by Mailchimp is subject to their Global Privacy Statement
- When loading our website, your browser requests fonts directly from Google, which receives information such as your IP address and browser type as a technical requirement — we do not receive this information from Google, and their handling of it is governed by their privacy policy
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to support our operations, serve our community, and fulfill our obligations, including:
- Operating our services and communicating about events
- Sending newsletters, updates, and other communications
- Responding to your inquiries, prayer requests, and support needs
- Improving our services, website, and user experience
- Analyzing website usage and performance
- Complying with legal obligations and protecting the rights or safety of us or others
Information Sharing
We will never sell your personal information. We may share your information in limited circumstances, including:
- With your explicit consent
- With others in our community, when you share a prayer request with us, so that they can pray for you
- With service providers who assist us in operating our website and services (see the Service Providers section above)
- When required by law or to protect the rights or safety of us or others
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of all or a portion of our assets, or other reorganization — for example, if the church dissolves, reorganizes, or transfers its activities to another organization
Communications Policy
Email and SMS/Text Messages
By opting in to receive communications from Blossom Christian Church, you acknowledge that email and SMS/text messages may be sent using automated technology, including but not limited to autodialer systems. These messages may include promotional and informational content. Message frequency varies, up to 8 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of participation, membership, or any other benefit. You may opt out at any time. For email, use the unsubscribe link. For SMS/text messages, reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. You may also contact us to opt out or update your preferences.
Your email address, phone number, and opt-in data will never be sold, and will never be shared with or transferred to any third party for their promotional purposes. See the Information Sharing section above for details on when your information may be shared. We retain a record of your consent as described in the Data Security and Retention section below.
For more details on how to opt out, see the Your Choices section below.
Social Media
Blossom Christian Church does not maintain official social media accounts and does not regularly photograph our events. We are not affiliated with or operated by the Blossom Rock Community Association, but we are currently structured as a Blossom Rock resident-led club under Blossom Rock Community Life ("BRCL"), which means we are bound by the following rules:
BRCL has the right to post photographs and articles of Club activities and its members in its communication tools, including websites, social media and email blasts.
We do not provide photographs to BRCL for this purpose. Additionally, BRCL may still photograph club activities on its own.
Your Choices
Email Opt-Out
Every email sent to our mailing list includes an unsubscribe link — click it and follow the instructions to opt out immediately. You can also email privacy@blossom.church or call or text (480) 341-3742 with your request; include your email address and any specific preferences.
Opting out of email will not affect your SMS/text message subscriptions or other communications.
SMS/Text Message Opt-Out
Reply STOP to any text message you receive from us, and you may receive one final confirmation message. You can also email privacy@blossom.church or call or text (480) 341-3742 with your request; include your phone number and any specific preferences.
Opting out of SMS/text messages will not affect your email subscriptions or other communications.
Your Data Rights
You can ask us to do things such as give you access to, correct, or delete your personal information, or limit how we use and share sensitive information you have given us; or you can object to certain processing or withdraw your consent — and a parent or guardian may do the same on behalf of their child. Depending on where you live, state law may give you additional rights, such as obtaining your data in a portable format or appealing a decision we make about your request.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@blossom.church or call or text (480) 341-3742. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity and respond within a reasonable time. If we deny a request, we will tell you why.
If you ask us to delete your personal information, we remove you from our communications, if applicable, and delete it from our active records, except for information we keep for specific reasons, including:
- A record of your request — that you asked us to delete your information, and when — so we can show the request was honored.
- A record of your consent, and any past communications we sent you, if applicable — to demonstrate that consent existed, the consent record is kept for at least the four years described in the Data Security and Retention section below; past communications are kept for our own recordkeeping. Neither is used to contact you — you're welcome to sign up again in the future if you'd like to hear from us.
- Information needed to protect the rights or safety of us or others, or to comply with the law, kept only as long as needed.
- Routine backups and system logs, which aren't searched or purged individually and are deleted at the end of their normal retention period rather than kept indefinitely.
Please understand that we cannot retract information already shared with others in our community — a prayer request, for example. Let us know if you'd like confirmation once your deletion request is complete.
Data Security and Retention
We implement appropriate technical, administrative, and physical security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Consent records for communications are retained for a minimum of four years.
Children's Privacy
Our website. Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through it. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information to us through our website, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.
Our events. Children are welcome at our events and remain with their parent or guardian throughout. We do not currently offer a separate children's ministry or child care.
Changes to This Policy
We may modify this policy at any time. Changes take effect when posted and are reflected in the Changelog below, so please check back periodically.
